Vamos a la Playa: Inspired Mexican cuisine in Mill Valley. Great cocktails can soften a lot of missteps, but even without the effects of Tequila, it is clear that the food at Playa is excellent, bolstered by the refined service and atmosphere. Read full review.Michael Bauer, San Francisco Chronicle
Playa, the latest addition to Mill Valley’s dining scene, has been generating plenty of buzz. Housed in a historic building, Playa’s eye-catching modern décor—think giant teardrop pendant lights, azure walls and a geometric tile floor—blends with the building’s original architectural details such as exposed bricks and beams. An inviting outdoor deck is also festive, with orange umbrellas and a colorful mural. Executive chef Omar Huerta’s light, contemporary Mexican food is fresh and diverse. Love this new destination spot!
Great selection of tequila, highly recommended the “Kill Bill”-well crafted.
If you are mole lover, try “Enchiladas de mole Rojo” beef cheeks with devine rich sauce-Delish!
We ordered all their tacos (beef, chicken & seafood) each tacos with different approach -variety tortillas & flavorful ingredient. Including texture, we all enjoyed.
They also have kids friendly cozy patio. Yes! Thumbs up for Playa. Highly recommended for any occasion!K.F. / Yelp
Excellent service, the food is amazing, real Mexican flavor. The best TACOS AL PASTOR EEEVER!!! Dishes totally clean it’s a big plus. Five starts for you guys. Keep going. M Moreno / Google Review
Had lunch there yesterday. Very attractive space and very good food but slow service; seemed the backup was due to a really slow kitchen.
All quite fresh, nice presentation.
No coffee service yet!M.B. / Yelp
I came here for a birthday dinner and we ordered all sorts of things. We ordered the playa chips and salsa, guacamole, playa tostadas, spicy mushroom soup, enchiladas de mole rojo and lastly tacos a la pastor. They were all good…N. M. / Yelp
What an upgrade for Mill Valley -authentic Mexican with a modern vibe!
We love Joe’s Taco Lounge and Grilly’s but this is a whole different deal. The decor, service and amazing food along with their gorgeous deck set under the redwoods has quickly made it our favorite spot! …C. M. / Yelp
