Vamos a la Playa: Inspired Mexican cuisine in Mill Valley. Great cocktails can soften a lot of missteps, but even without the effects of Tequila, it is clear that the food at PLAYA is excellent, bolstered by the refined service and atmosphere. Read full review.Michael Bauer, San Francisco Chronicle
PLAYA, the latest addition to Mill Valley’s dining scene, has been generating plenty of buzz. Housed in a historic building, PLAYA’s eye-catching modern décor—think giant teardrop pendant lights, azure walls and a geometric tile floor—blends with the building’s original architectural details such as exposed bricks and beams. An inviting outdoor deck is also festive, with orange umbrellas and a colorful mural. Executive chef Omar Huerta’s light, contemporary Mexican food is fresh and diverse. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious food and drink were here. I kept my expectations low, as I was expecting a tourist trap. The restaurant is inviting with seating indoors and out. We opted to sit at the bar, and had great service from all the staff. Marie B./ Yelp
Friendly staff. Great drink selection. Stopped in just for a beer while my toddler was sleeping on my shoulder. Very accommodating. Good vibes here. Busy though!C Fryer / Google Review June 2018
Everything was great! Grilled octopus tacos and oxtails in a delicious mole sauce were the highlights of our meal. The great part about our ‘first visit’ is that we ordered things we wouldn’t ordinarily have anywhere else….juliec888/ Trip Advisor
Great Mexican food in downtown Mill Valley. Outdoor seating that accommodates dogs and is pleasant even if the sun isn’t cookin’! If you like hot and spicy, you should give their hot salsa a try – so good!M Taylor / Google Review

We love Joe’s Taco Lounge and Grilly’s but this is a whole different deal. The decor, service and amazing food along with their gorgeous deck set under the redwoods has quickly made it our favorite spot! …C. M. / Yelp
